It can really save the day if your dog has a major medical expense. Keep in mind that once your pet has a pre-exisiting condition, it is hard to switch company's ~ so please choose carefully the first time :)
Also, read policy conditions and coverages closely - the fine print discloses all the ways they plan NOT to pay you, so know what you are really comparing when making a selection between companies.

This company has frequent rate increases, poor customer service, the (ever rising) deductible is Per Visit and you can expect a long hold time on phone. That being said, they did cover Raphael's leg surgery and paid the amount expected and recently, covered a bout of colitis in a fairly timely manner. They do pay, but it can be a frustrating process.

This is a relatively new company. Trupanion has no payout limits on care, which means no annual limit on treatment costs and they appear to charge a competitive rate for premiums. Please feel free to share your experience if you have used this company!
